Rigid Plastic Material

Rigid injection molding material refers to a type of plastic that is designed to be hard and inflexible. It is commonly used for manufacturing products requiring rigidity and durability.

ABS - Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

ABS material is currently the largest output, the most widely used polymer, ABS can organically unify the various properties of PS, SAN, BS, and has the excellent mechanical properties of tough, hard, rigid phase equilibrium. In general, ABS is a very versatile thermoplastic engineering plastics.

ABS+PC - ABS + Polycarbonate Alloy

PC/ABS plastic is a new type of thermoplastic plastic, it is rigid and toughness, with high impact strength, high dimensional stability and a wide range of temperature, good electrical insulation performance and heat resistance, non-toxic and anti-ultraviolet (UV) properties.

HDPE - High Density Polyethylene

HDPE is an opaque white wax-like material, the specific gravity is lighter than water, the specific gravity is 0.941~0.960, soft and ductile, but slightly harder than LDPE, also slightly elongate, non-toxic, tasteless. It is the product of polymerization under low pressure under the catalysis of Ziegler catalyst, so high density polyethylene is also known as low pressure polyethylene.

Advantages

HIPS(High Impact Polyethylene)

 HIPS began to develop rubber modified polystyrene (i.e. high impact polystyrene,HIPS) in 1950, mainly to solve the impact brittleness of PS. The outstanding characteristics of impact resistant polystyrene are easy to process, excellent dimensional stability, high impact strength and high rigidity. HIPS are only heat resistant. There are limits to oxygen permeability, UV light stability and oil resistance. With good transparency, high hardness, easy to form processing.

Advantages

  • The impact strength is very high, more than 4 times higher than ABS.

  • Excellent electrical insulation,HIPS easy coloring, easy printing.
  • Surface hardness is relatively high.

Disadvantages

  • The gloss of the surface.
  • Poor thermal stability, low heat resistance.

LCP - Liquid Crystal Polymer

LCP is a kind of high molecular material composed of rigid molecular chains. Under certain physical conditions, it can appear both liquid mobility and crystal physical properties of anisotropic state (this state is called liquid crystal state). LLCP is used to produce fiber,TLCP can be injection molding, extrusion molding and so on.

Advantages

  • Good weather resistance and radiation resistance.
  • It has excellent flame resistance.
  • Corrosion resistance.

Disadvantages

  • The mechanical strength is worse than high-temperature nylon.
  • Poor strength of binding wire.
  • Poor dyeing property.
  • The appearance is dull and has flow marks.

Nylon 6 - Polyamide 6

It has high crystallinity, obvious melting point, large surface hardness, abrasion resistance, small friction coefficient, self-lubricity and silencing. Good low temperature performance, a certain heat resistance (can be used below 100 degrees). Non-toxic, odorless, no mildew, self-quenching, good weather resistance, but poor dyeing.

Advantages

  • A combination of strength and durability, excellent rigidity, and heat resistance.
  • Good processing, excellent fluidity, and thermal stability make the material processing conditions more relaxed, so injection parts are miniaturized.
  • High thermal stability, can be up to 270 degrees wave peak solder without hanging tin.

Nylon 11(Polyamide 11)

A general term for thermoplastic resins containing repeated amide groups – [NHCO] – in the molecular backbone. Includes aliphatic PA, adipo-aromatic PA, and aromatic PA. A generic term for all polyamides that have abrasion resistance and flexibility and resemble the chemical structure of proteins.

Advantages

  • It has good softness, extensibility, electrical insulation and transparency.
  • Its chemical stability is good, alkali resistance, resistance to general organic solvents.
  • Low temperature resistance, easy to burn, soft properties, good elongation, electrical insulation, chemical stability.

Disadvantages

Nylon 66(Polyamide 66)

Nylon 66 is translucent or opaque opalescent crystalline polymer, violet white or blue white light under ultraviolet light, high mechanical strength, good stress cracking resistance, is the best wear resistance PA, excellent self-lubricity, good chemical stability, especially excellent oil resistance, but easily soluble in phenol, formic acid and other polar solvents. Carbon black can improve weather resistance, water absorption (the balance of water absorption in the atmosphere is 2.5%), so the dimensional stability is poor, good molding processing.

PBT - Polybutylene Terepthalate

PBT is a milky white translucent to opaque, crystalline thermoplastic polyester. With high heat resistance, toughness, fatigue resistance, self-lubrication, low coefficient of friction, weather resistance, low water absorption, in humid environments still maintain a variety of physical properties (including electrical properties), electrical insulation, but volume resistance, dielectric loss is large. Heat resistant water, alkali, acid, oil, but easy to halogenated hydrocarbon erosion, hydrolysis resistance is poor, low temperature can be quickly crystallized, good molding. It can work at 140℃ for a long time. The vertical and horizontal shrinkage of glass fiber reinforced products are not consistent, which is easy to warp the products.

PE - Polyethylene

PE polyethylene odorless, non-toxic, feel like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance, good chemical stability, can withstand most acid and alkali erosion. Insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, small water absorption, excellent electrical insulation. Polyethylene film has low water permeability but high air permeability, which is not suitable for fresh packaging and moisture-proof packaging. Inflammable, oxygen index is 17.4, low smoke when burning, a small amount of melting drops, the flame is yellow on the top and blue on the bottom, smell of paraffin. The surface of the product is non-polar, difficult to bond and print, and improved by surface treatment. The branched chain has poor resistance to photodegradation and oxidation.

Advantages

  • Lightweight, good corrosion resistance (no need for corrosion protection).

PEI(Polyetherimid)

PET - Polyethylene Terepthalate

PET is a milky white or light yellow, highly crystalline polymer with a smooth glossy surface. It has excellent physical and mechanical properties in a wide temperature range, the long-term use temperature can reach 120℃, excellent electrical insulation, even at high temperature and high frequency, its electrical properties are still good, but poor corona resistance, creep resistance, fatigue resistance, friction resistance, dimensional stability are good.

Advantages

  • Good mechanical properties, impact strength is 3~5 times of other films, good flexability.
  • With excellent high temperature resistance, low temperature performance
  • High transparency, can block ultraviolet rays, good gloss.

PMMA - Acrylic

PMMA stands for Polymethyl methacrylate, and it is a synthetic polymer that is commonly used in the production of transparent plastic sheets, lenses, and acrylic glass. It is also known as Acrylic or Plexiglas. Its optical clarity, high impact strength, and ease of fabrication make it a popular choice in a wide range of applications, including signage, automotive parts, and medical devices. Additionally, PMMA is resistant to UV light, weathering, and certain chemicals, making it a durable material that is well-suited for both indoor and outdoor use.

Advantages

POM - Acetal

 The molecule of polyformaldehyde is a high density, high crystalline linear polymer without side chains. The flexibility of the molecular chain of polyformaldehyde is large, the structure of the chain is high, so the crystallinity is high and the crystallization ability is strong. The crystallinity of homopolyformaldehyde is 75%~85%, and the crystallinity of co-formaldehyde is 70%~75%. Even after rapid quenching, the crystallinity can reach more than 65%. Completely amorphous polyformaldehyde can only be obtained at -100℃.

PP - Polypropylene

PPA (Polyphthalamide)

PPA is a polyphthalamide resin, which is a semi-aromatic polyamide based on terephthalic acid or phthalic acid. PPA material has excellent comprehensive properties, showing good performance in thermal, electrical, physical and chemical resistance, especially high strength and excellent dimensional stability at high temperatures.

PPS(Polyphenylene Sulfide)

SAN - Styrene Acrylonitrile
